Doing Life Together with Jesus

Your Greatest Weapon

People can often get discouraged from sharing their faith because they feel as if they don’t know enough about Christianity or the Bible. However, our greatest weapon and tool is something much simpler. In this sermon, Pastor Coon begins to explain how your personal story can be used as one of your most effective tools for sharing the gospel.

Not only did Paul relate to them in substance: v22 “Paul…said: “People of Athens! I see that in every way you are very religious.” & v23 “…I walked around and looked carefully at your objects of worship…” But he also related to them in style: v17 - “So he reasoned in the synagogue” & v21 “All the Athenians and the foreigners who lived there spent their time doing nothing but talking about and listening to the latest ideas.” - http://is.gd/3ICQ

    Now that’s being relevant!

We need to be regularly praying (talking & listening), reading our Bible, going to church, surrounding ourselves w/ other Christians, listening to sermons - Doing Life Together With Jesus. So that when we are in a situation, and God says, “That person over there needs Jesus. Don’t pretend you don’t see him. I want you to talk to him. Here’s what you’re supposed to say…”, we hear God and aren’t absorbed in our own little world just thinking ‘I wonder if they’ll get off the island tonight.’

It is so important to be adaptable and flexible so that we can communicate the gospel in ways that people will understand. And you are right, we need to be regularly training ourselves so that when the opportunities arise we are ready to move into action.
